Bespoke Kitchen Cabinets handcrafted by Edenballycoggill Workshop, Donaghcloney, Co. Down

Delivering a personal and comprehensive level of craftsmanship to answer unique solutions.

Based in rural Co. Down, I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern precision to create pieces that are as practical as they are beautiful. Whether you're dreaming of a bespoke kitchen, a custom wardrobe, or that perfect piece of furniture, I work closely with you to bring your vision to life.

Every piece is made with care, because I believe your home deserves better than mass-produced.

Why Choose Handmade?

In a world of flat-pack furniture, there's something special about owning a piece made just for you. I take pride in traditional workmanship—the kind of attention to detail you simply won't find in off-the-shelf items. From selecting the right timber to the final finish, every step is done with your space and needs in mind.

Visit the workshop by appointment, or I'm happy to come to you to discuss your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I get started with a project?

The easiest way is to give me a call on 07821 189864 or send a message through Facebook. We'll have a chat about what you're looking for, and I can either visit you on site or you can come to the workshop in Donaghcloney. There's no obligation—I'm happy to discuss ideas and give you a sense of what's possible.

  2. How long does a typical project take?

It really depends on the size and complexity:

    • Small furniture pieces (coffee table, bedside cabinet)
    • Medium projects (dining tables, desk, sideboard)
    • Large projects (media units, wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry)

I'll give you a realistic timeline during our initial consultation. I only take on what I can deliver properly, so you won't be left waiting indefinitely.

  3. Do you work from my designs or help with the design process?

Both! If you have plans or drawings, I can work from those. But if you're starting from scratch or just have a rough idea, I'll help you develop it. I've done this for years, so I can usually suggest practical solutions you might not have thought of—things like better storage options, different materials, or ways to make the most of your space.

  4. What areas do you cover?

Primarily Co. Down (Banbridge, Bangor, Lisburn, Newcastle, Saintfield). Past projects have taken me throughout Northern Ireland and surrounding counties, anywhere is considered. I'm flexible and happy to travel a bit further, give me a call and we can discuss it.

  5. Can I visit the workshop to see examples of your work?

Absolutely! I work by appointment only, so just ring ahead and we'll arrange a time. You can see work in progress, look at timber samples, and get a feel for how things are made.
Workshop hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

  6. Do you provide a cost before starting work?

Yes, always. After our initial discussion, I'll provide a detailed estimate. If any aspect of the project changes along the way (which sometimes happens), we'll discuss it before any additional work is done.

  7. What's the difference between your work and buying from a furniture shop?

    • Custom-made for you: Every piece is built to your exact measurements and specifications. No "almost fits" or wasted space.
    • Quality that lasts: Solid timber, traditional joinery techniques, hand-finished. These aren't pieces you'll replace in five years.
    • Your choice of materials and finish: You pick the wood, the stain or paint color, the handles, everything.
    • Supporting local craftsmanship: You're working directly with the person making your furniture, not ordering from a warehouse.

  8. Can you match existing furniture or architectural features?

Yes. Whether it's matching a moulding profile, replicating a specific finish, or creating new pieces that complement what you already have, I can work to match existing styles and finishes. This is particularly useful for period properties or when you're adding to an existing room.

  9. What about aftercare and maintenance?

I'll give you specific care instructions when your project is complete. Generally, never leave spillages, remove them immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth.

If you need repairs or refinishing down the line, get in touch. I'm here for the long term.

  10. Can you work with other tradespeople on a larger renovation?

Yes, I regularly work alongside builders, electricians, plumbers, and decorators. I'm used to coordinating with other trades to make sure everything comes together smoothly. If you're doing a full renovation, I can liaise with your contractor to ensure timing works for everyone.

  11. What payment terms do you offer?

    • Deposit 40% to secure materials and schedule the work
    • Progress payment for larger projects
    • Final payment on completion

We'll agree on the exact payment schedule before work begins.

  12. I'm not sure exactly what I want—can you still help?

Of course! Some of my best projects have started with someone saying "I need more storage but I'm not sure what that looks like." That's part of what I do—listening to how you use your space, understanding what's not working, and suggesting solutions. Bring your rough ideas, photos you like, or even just a description of the problem, and we'll work it out together.

  13. Can I see more examples of your work?

Yes! Check out the gallery on this website, or visit my Facebook page where I regularly post photos of completed projects and work in progress.
