Oak is the material of choice at the minute.

We like to work with most timber species although on reflection it seems Oak is a very popular choice. Not that I’m complaining as I would regard it as one of my favourite timbers and is such a joy to work with and once polished it transforms to another level beyond any imagination.
We have recently made the Oak bench pictured below for a client and [...]

Top Deck.

Lately we constructed a deck for our IT consultant which was nice to be working outside in the sun and now the planting has been completed adding to the finished job. From the picture you’ll notice we fixed the boards on the top in a diamond formation to create a visual effect which is fairly pleasing. All the wood [...]

AV cabinet.

We are settling into our new workshop and the sunshine is streaming through the windows so all is well. The church notice board is finished and awaiting delivery and recently we made and installed the av cabinet pictured below for a client in Strangford, Co Down.

The cabinet is painted and the screen is mounted on a [...]

Extending Oak table.

We have produced a number of various items since the last blog posting and its a job to know which to attach but considering we have mentioned the extending Oak dinning table then we thought best to show it.
Currently we are working on the frame for another Oak dinning table, a shop counter and a notice board similar to [...]

Bedside Tables.

Recently we recieved instruction from a new client to manufacture these two painted bedside tables.
Any item incorporating curves raises a few challenges, whether it’s in regard to the joints or for any other matter during manufacture it generates interest and fulfilling once the head scratching is overcome.
They fitted in with our schedule quite nicely as we are awaiting some ironmongery [...]

Oak Table.

I have finally taken a few pictures of the Oak dinning table we made and delivered (only just) before Christmas.  The picture with the chairs removed shows the base and rail detail. The timber for this table came locally from Shane’s Castle Estate in Co Antrim and my client is to complement this piece with a curved Oak sideboard.
The incoming week we aim [...]

Log Store.

Replacing our previous Log Store posting we thought you’d appreciate a picture of this model completely filled with firewood. All our log stores are hand made from Redwood prepared in our own workshop with a durable Larch boarded roof and assembled with stainless steel screws to avoid any corrosion.
Standard size overall as illustrated below is 1.6mts wide x 1.4mts [...]

Walnut Cabinet.

For those of you who can remember the walnut cabinet blog postings I thought you would be interested in seeing a picture of the finished item before we deliver it. Inside it will be fitted with 2 glass shelves and the door is opened by a touch catch which springs the door open enough to open by hand [...]

Door update.

Production is moving along nicely with the doors and after a few weeks of machining components followed by assembly we are now at the stage of finally applying the quadrant around the panels and spraying a coat of primer. Note the doors containing the red MDF panels, we are using this form of MDF which is rated at half hour fire [...]

Current project.

I know its been too long since I have posted a new blog entry, I was building up the courage so here goes!!

We have been receiving great feedback in regard to the new site, thank you.

In the workshop at present we are busy manufacturing 25 internal doors for a client in England. Things are progressing [...]
